Updated
Want something on while you make tea, work or sit by the window? Press Play, or choose a station from the list.
Start listening
Start with FM Rainbow Kolkata. Select it from the list, give the stream a moment to connect, and set the volume to a comfortable level. The display tells you when it is playing. Stop ends playback; choosing another station replaces the current one.
For Bengali programmes, try Geetanjali, Sanchayita, Akashvani Bangla or Maitree. The list also includes Kolkata and national Vividh Bharati services.
Type English in the search box for English-language options. WNYC carries news and conversation; KEXP offers independent music; WQXR plays classical music. Their locations are shown beside their names.
Keep your favourites close
Press the star beside a station to save it, then choose Favourites to see your saved list. Your choices and sound settings stay in this browser when storage is available. There is no account to create.
The sleep timer stops the radio after 15, 30 or 60 minutes. Changing stations keeps the same deadline. Choose Off to cancel the timer. On an iPhone or iPad, use the device’s volume buttons.
When a station is unavailable
A familiar station name does not guarantee an internet stream. More stations on their official sites has links to Mirchi, RED FM and BIG FM, where you can check their own listening options.
If a stream fails, use Retry station, choose another station or open its official listening site. Streams can change, and availability depends on the broadcaster, your connection and your browser.
About this radio
The dark panels and amber display take their cue from a physical radio. The two dials show volume and the sleep timer; the clock shows Calcutta time.
This is internet radio, so it needs a connection. Playing a station connects your browser to its stream provider, which supplies the programme and any broadcast advertising. Calcutta Radio does not record or rebroadcast the audio.

Why has a station stopped playing?
The broadcaster, your connection or your browser may interrupt a stream. Try again, choose another station or use the broadcaster's own listening page.
