Watch: Screenagers on Growing Up with Screens

This Romanian-language upload presents Screenagers: Growing Up in the Digital Age, physician and filmmaker Delaney Ruston’s documentary about children, teenagers and the screens woven into their daily lives. Ruston turns the camera on her own family and other young people, using arguments over phones, social media, gaming, schoolwork and online cruelty to make an abstract debate feel domestic and recognisable.

The film is worth watching because it does not treat the problem as a simple contest between enlightened adults and irresponsible children. Family stories sit alongside psychologists, writers and brain researchers, while the practical question remains in view: how can adults set useful limits without making technology the forbidden object around which every conversation revolves?

Pay particular attention to the shift from warning signs to negotiation. The most useful idea here is not that every screen is inherently harmful, but that families and schools need explicit habits around attention, sleep, gaming and social media.
