Vibe Fucking Coding—Mustard Oil and Other Missing Ingredients
Checking article narration…

All these maddening years I’ve lived, miserably misunderstanding why my life as a Bengali smart-ass cunt in Calcutta felt about as pleasurable as mustard oil slathered across the eyeballs of an unwary, astigmatic goat. But it turns out—mirabile fucking dictu—that the missing ingredient wasn’t even the pungent extract of the mustard seed (Sinapis alba, Latin for “fuck your nostrils sideways”), oh no! What my tragically half-assed Bengali existence was missing, apparently, was “vibe fucking coding.”
“Vibe,” a millennial fart of a word, birthed and blurted straight out of the stoned, septum-pierced orifices of Gen Z linguists too glazed-eyed to realize they’ve reduced the subtleties of existential anguish into a monosyllabic grunt. But add “coding” to that moronic mumble and suddenly, you’ve got yourself an industry—coders who can smell startup billions from half a continent away, sprinting like diarrheic geese toward the capitalist pond to paddle frantically for their share of the blockchain breadcrumbs.
What exactly is “vibe fucking coding”? Damned if I know precisely—sounds like something cooked up by Calcutta hipsters twiddling keyboards while a scrawny little AI giggles at their failures. But I reckon it’s when you sit your miserable ass down in front of a screen, your fingers convulsing spasmodically across a mechanical keyboard, pumping out code with all the disciplined elegance of a mongoose mating dance, and the whole ordeal feels vaguely transcendental, orgasmic, even—until of course, the code breaks, sending you right back down the rectum of reality, violently expelled in a warm jet of despair.
Etymology time, you mustard-oiled motherfuckers: “code” from Latin codex, literally “a block of wood,” now meaningfully repurposed to describe the dense-as-teak software manuals none read. “Vibe” from the Latin vibrare, “to shake”—originally meaning “fuck off I’m shaking with emotion,” now just a lazy-ass substitute for “I don’t care enough to actually explain what I feel.” Combine them, and you have yourself the mother of all paradoxes—structured chaos, disciplined randomness, blissfully clueless mastery.
Bengalis, we poor sods, know chaos intimately—it’s hardwired, tattooed onto our DNA strands like old-fashioned mustard stains. Calcutta streets, traffic regulations interpreted strictly as suggestions, bureaucracies operating on pure vibe and tea breaks—it’s code, alright, just fucking unreadable. Meanwhile, silicon brethren out west monetize vibes into venture capitalist bait, and here I sit, bipolar-ly oscillating between the poles of existential euphoria and sheer fucking nihilism, desperately trying to vibe with my own entropy.
If you ask me—and nobody ever does, hence my compulsive blogging—coding isn’t just writing lines of scripts that computers obediently piss back out as incomprehensible errors. It’s alchemy in a hoodie, the black-magic dance where hopeful incantations are muttered into a dark, glowing abyss hoping for divine emergence but mostly, tragically, getting yelled at by a compiler that hates your guts more than your own mother-in-law. But vibing? Vibing is different—it’s spiritual masturbation minus the clean-up, a Zen koan minus enlightenment, existential constipation relieved occasionally by accidental wisdom-shits.
Yet, the hallowed Silicon Valley hordes assure us vibe coding is crucial—critical even—to mankind’s next big leap into technofuturistic nonsense. “Fail fast,” the gurus preach—meaning, presumably, “break your code and your spirits as quickly and violently as possible,” until suddenly, with battered keyboard and hemorrhaging dignity, you achieve spiritual ascension or Series-B funding, whichever fucks you gently first.
Well, I’ve vibe-coded before it had a trendy name, in my own grimy little room in Calcutta—one-hand typing Python scripts, the other smearing pungent mustard oil across existential wounds, wondering why exactly existence feels like debugging a multiverse-level glitch. Now they say it’s “necessary”? You can shove that insight so far up your node modules it prints recursive errors into your DNA.
What then is missing? Mustard oil? No, not quite. Coding? Not entirely. Vibe? Maybe a tiny bit, only ironically. The missing ingredient is the human spectacle of eternal fumbling, stumbling, the one we’ve religiously kept hidden behind dry, dust-covered textbooks full of incomprehensible jargon. It’s that fumbling—beautifully human, obscenely comic—that makes science a glorious mess. And I’ll be damned if vibe-fucking-coding, mustard oil, or any goddamn Gen Z monosyllabic enlightenment will rob me of this tragicomic dignity.
As the Rigveda poignantly stated:
“Ano bhadrāḥ kratavo yantu viśvataḥ.” (“Let noble thoughts come to us from every side—oh, and vibe-check yourselves thoroughly, you sanctimonious little shits.”)
So there it is—next time your soul aches for meaning, next time the compiler mocks your futile efforts, remember this pathetic Bengali blogger, typing furiously into the void, vibe-coding existential despair into pixelated oblivion, mustard-oiled fingers sliding gracefully toward spiritual and intellectual bankruptcy. Or enlightenment. Whatever vibes first.
